Memorial Day weekend is almost upon us. To many it is a great summer time holiday that allows for grilling out, playing golf and having fun with friends. We look forward to this weekend every year, making sure to put in our time off requests at work well ahead of time in preparation.
Let’s not forget why we celebrate this Memorial Day come Monday. I know, many of us have already been getting those forwarded emails in our in-box reminding us that our slain veterans should be the focus. We nod our heads in agreement and forward the emails on, feeling proud that we did our part to support our lost soldiers.
This summer, lets do something a bit more. This year, let’s make an extra effort to honor our veterans. Let’s show a gesture to those that have died for our freedom by partaking in something a little less convenient than just a weekend barbecue.

Of course you can also go to your local parade. These parades are typically on Monday and feature local schools and active/retired veterans.
